Common Questions, Clear Answers!

  • We are located at 1800 E. Ray Rd, Suite C6 Chandler AZ 85225. We are located close to the surrounding areas of Tempe, Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Mesa Arizona.

  • Our first session, commonly referred to as an "intake evaluation" will be a 50-60 minute session where you can expect a welcoming and comfortable environment where you and I will get to know one another better. This session is all about understanding your reasons for seeking therapy, discussing your background, and identifying your goals. You will be asked questions about your mental and physical health history, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. This is also a time for you to ask questions, share concerns, and start building a trusting relationship with your therapist. It’s the first step in creating a personalized plan to support your well-being.

  • Each therapy session will last 50 minutes.

  • Preparation for therapy is not mandatory for overall success, but there are several ways to prepare for your appointments that can optimize your sessions if you choose to do so. Some preparation methods include:

    1. Reflect on Your Goals: Think about what you want to achieve in therapy and any specific topics you want to discuss.

    2. Jot Down Notes: Write down any recent events, feelings, or thoughts that are important to share. This can help you remember key points during the session.

    3. Set Aside Time: Ensure you have a quiet, comfortable space for your session where you won’t be interrupted.

    4. Be Open and Honest: Approach the session with a willingness to be open about your thoughts and feelings.

    5. Prepare Questions: If you have any questions or concerns about the therapy process, jot them down to discuss with your therapist.

For any questions regarding your out-of-network benefits, please contact your insurance company directly.

We accept most major credit cards, and FSA/HSA.

Upon scheduling, clients will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate detailing their estimated therapeutic costs as part of the No Surprises Act.

  • A superbill is a detailed receipt you'll receive from us after your therapy sessions. It includes everything your insurance company needs, such as service dates, fees, and diagnostic codes. By submitting your superbill to your insurance company, you can potentially receive out-of-network reimbursement, helping to lower your therapy costs while still allowing you to work with the therapist you feel most comfortable with. It's a great way to make therapy more affordable without sacrificing quality care.

  • To submit a superbill to your insurance, simply log in to your insurance provider's portal and look for the section to submit claims. Upload the superbill, follow any additional steps, and your provider will review it for potential reimbursement.

  • A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a document provided to clients in therapy that outlines the expected costs of services. As part of the No Surprises Act, therapists must give clients an estimate of fees for services, especially for those who are uninsured or paying out-of-pocket. The GFE helps clients understand and plan for the cost of care, ensuring transparency and preventing unexpected charges. This estimate covers the anticipated cost of sessions, but actual costs may vary depending on the length or frequency of treatment.

  • The frequency of your therapy sessions will be tailored to your individual goals and needs. Typically, I see clients on a weekly basis, but sessions can also be scheduled biweekly or monthly, depending on what works best for you! We’ll discuss your ideal frequency during your initial session, and it can be adjusted as needed over time.

  • The length of therapy varies for each individual based on their unique needs and goals. Some women may find relief and progress within a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term support. Together, we’ll regularly assess your progress to ensure therapy is aligned with your goals, and we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you.

  • To know if therapy is working for you, look for these signs:

    1. Progress Toward Goals: You start noticing progress on the goals you set together with your therapist, even if it’s gradual.

    2. Improved Well-Being: You feel a positive change in your mood, outlook, or overall well-being.

    3. Increased Self-Awareness: You become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and understand them better.

    4. Better Coping Skills: You find that you’re handling stress, challenges, or emotions more effectively.

    5. Open Communication: You feel comfortable discussing your thoughts and feelings openly with your therapist.

If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to bring it up with your therapist. They can help you evaluate your progress and adjust the therapy to better meet your needs.

  • YES! Everything shared in therapy is completely confidential. There are only a few exceptions where confidentiality may be breached, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law. These exceptions will be explained to you more thoroughly during your initial appointment to ensure that your privacy is protected throughout your treatment.

  • Having the courage to start therapy is a big deal...and feeling unsure or anxious is SO normal!

If you’re feeling anxious or unsure about starting therapy, here’s what you can do:

    1. Recognize Your Feelings: It’s totally normal to feel nervous about beginning therapy. Just knowing that helps a lot.

    2. Talk It Out: Let your therapist know how you’re feeling. They’re used to helping people feel more at ease.

    3. Get Informed: Learn a bit about how therapy works. Sometimes knowing what to expect can help ease your nerves.

    4. Take It Slow: You can start with shorter sessions or lighter topics if that helps you feel more comfortable.

    5. Be Patient: It might take a few sessions to really get into the swing of things. Give yourself some time to adjust.

I am here to help you through any worries you may have. I will do everything I can to make sure you feel comfortable and supported when starting this new journey!

  • Knowing when you're ready to graduate from therapy can depend on a few factors:

    1. Achievement of Goals: You’ve made significant progress towards the goals you set with your therapist, and you feel you’ve addressed the issues that brought you to therapy.

    2. Increased Confidence: You feel confident in your ability to manage challenges and use the tools and strategies learned in therapy on your own.

    3. Improved Well-Being: You notice a lasting positive change in your mood, coping skills, and overall well-being.

    4. Self-Sufficiency: You feel equipped to handle life’s ups and downs without regular support from your therapist.

    5. Discussion with Your Therapist: You and your therapist agree that you’ve made enough progress and that it’s a good time to end therapy.

It’s a collaborative decision between you and your therapist, and it’s important to feel ready and confident before making the transition.
